Flat Bread

A fast flat bread recipe that can be used for many meals.

Ingredients

Procedures

  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients
    • Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together
    • Make a divot, a well, in the middle of the mixture
  2. Form the Dough
    • Pour 2 tbsp olive oil, the sugar, and most of the water into the well
    • Fold the wet ingredients into the flour slowly with a rubber spatula
    • As the dough comes together, add a bit of water or flour so it's not too sticky and not too dry
  3. Knead and Rest
    • Move the dough to a floured surface and knead it til smooth
    • Cover with a dish towel and leave for 10 minutes
  4. Prep for Cooking
    • Heat up a pan to medium heat
    • Divide the dough into six pieces
  5. Cook a Flatbread
    • Roll a piece into a disc that's between ⅛" and ¼" thick
    • Throw down the 2 tbsp avocado oil once the pan is hot
    • Place the flatbread in the oil and cook until golden brown on one side (1 to 2 minutes)
    • Flip and cook the other side (1 to 2 minutes)
    • Transfer to a plate and cover with a dish towel to keep warm
  6. Repeat for the other 5 flatbreads
  7. Enjoy!
