Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Classic scratch-made mashed-potato recipe that'll leave you eating a whole pot!

Ingredients

Procedures

  1. Prepare potatoes
    • Peel
    • Cut into ¾" chunks
    • Place in pot
  2. Boil Potatoes
    • Add cold water, cover, and bring to a gentle boil
    • Add salt once boiling
    • Cook ~25min until fork-tender (i.e. you can easily stick a fork in with no pressure)
    • Let sit 5 min for moisture to release
    • Drain water from pot
  3. Mash
    • Add butter and let melt
    • Add ~¾ of the half and half and sour cream and all of the pepper
    • Mash until smooth (be sure not to overdo it though)
    • Add remaining dairy if too dry or to taste
    • Add more salt/pepper to taste
  4. Enjoy!
